1. The service

CommunityPlaces is a community platform for Guernsey. You can browse and share local events, report and discuss local issues on the map, and vote on what matters. We may change or remove features at any time.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information when you sign up.

You are responsible for your account and anything posted under it. Keep your login details secure and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive licence to display, store, and share it on the platform so the service can work.

You agree not to post content that is:

• False, misleading, or not yours to share
• Illegal, abusive, harassing, or discriminatory
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, or malware
• Someone else's personal data without their consent

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules or harm the community.

4. Events and issues

Listings and reports are submitted by users, not by us. We do not guarantee that event details, locations, or issue descriptions are accurate or up to date. Please verify information yourself before attending an event or acting on a report.

5. Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Liability

The site is provided "as is". We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, including reliance on user-submitted content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be excluded under Guernsey law.

7. Ending use

You may stop using the site or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept the updated version.

8. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Guernsey. Disputes are subject to the courts of Guernsey.
